Pumpkin Carving Workshop with Ray Villafane

Ever wonder what it would be like to compete in one of those Food Network pumpkin carving q-competitions? Or perhaps to have some of those carving champions teach you a thing or two? Well, you’re in luck! Come join us October 12th for a fun filled day of Halloween pumpkin festivities.
In the morning, we will be hosting our 2nd annual pumpkin carving workshop taught by Food Network carving champion and judge Ray Villafane. This two-hour family friendly workshop will walk participants through the basics of carving a 3D pumpkin. While participants follow along, Gabe Vinas, also a Food Network carving champion will walk the event space giving tips and assisting those in need.
In the afternoon expect the atmosphere to change as we serve up some friendly competition…and beverages. Do you have what it takes to create an engaging Halloween pumpkin display? Carving skills are optional in this competition. It’s all about clever visual storytelling.
Each team will be given a theme then allowed to pick through a Boneyard of materials to create an engaging Halloween table display. Each team will be provided with, pumpkins, a an assortment of props, bendable pumpkin limbs and craft materials to use in their displays. At the end, get judged by the world’s best. Winners will receive valuable prizes and title as the Kierland’s Pumpkin War Champion.
