The Salone Internazionale del Mobile is the global benchmark for the home furnishing sector; an invaluable tool for the industry as well as an extraordinary promotional vehicle.
The Salone made its first appearance in 1961, designed to promote Italian furniture and furnishing accessories on the export market, and it has continued to do so, with half of all its visitors coming from around the world.
Its 51st edition will showcase thousands of high quality products destined for the global market. The myriad proposals from the about 2,500 exhibitors will all bear the distinguishing hallmarks of quality and innovation that have earned Milan its place as the capital of furnishing.
Building on their previous success, the Saloni 2012 - Salone Internazionale del Mobile, EuroCucina / International Kitchen Furniture Exhibition, International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, International Bathroom Exhibition and SaloneSatellite – are gearing up for the next round: from Tuesday 17th to Sunday 22nd April at the Milan Fairgrounds, Rho.
As always, there will also be a tantalizing panoply of collateral events throughout the city.

Cosmit – Comitato Organizzatore del Salone del Mobile Italiano – is the company that organizes Milan's Salone Internazionale del Mobile. Salone, as it's popularly known, was founded in 1961 thanks to the insight of a small group of furniture makers, who were the driving force of the trade association Federlegno-Arredo. A vehicle for promoting Italian furniture exports, Salone soon became the most keenly awaited event in the world of furniture.
Besides the Salone, Cosmit also organizes several other major trade shows such as the biennial events Euroluce/International Lighting Exhibition, EuroCucina/International Kitchen Furniture Exhibition, SaloneUfficio/International Biennial Workspace Exhibition, International Bathroom Exhibition and the annual International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition.
Along with these commercial events, starting from 1998, Cosmit organizes the SaloneSatellite, that has grown to represent a launching pad for young designers and a landmark event for all manufacturers looking for new talents.
